| subject: | newbe messing up with versions |
Hello to all! I started migrating to Linux early this year, with about 100 hours Linux "trying" time so far. To force me to a daily linux use i want to move my node system to linux. Unfortunately i am much more newbe to programming and compiling. I read a lot and more than one time, got smapi and hpt running, but messed up with versions after compiling fastlst-current with Gerrit Kuehn's help (thanks). [Thanks for help! ;) ] Some things went wrong after that, for example, make clean removes ALL files within the working directory. A rescan of this echo confirmed my findings, the change of the huskymak.cfg file has no backward compatibility (OBJ=.o -> _OBJ=.o). Okay, this problem may be only one for a newbe like me and you smile about that. Now i can say i used a current huskymak.cfg with a stable branch and understand why this is wrong. I think i mixed up with the use of fastlst-current. From now on, i have strikt version separating with working dir sm22, sm24 and sm25. (The shortcut hits the point ;) ) Anyhow... Maybe anybody can update the VERSION files to indicate which huskybse version is required? At least for the smapi module, or modules which use a different huskybse version than the required smapi (if any). From my point of view huskybse is required for smapi, because of the huskymak.cfg and additional information.
