I've got 4 kids ... we were blessed with no teething-problems at all (but I
can tell stories about losing a baby prematurely).

Absolutely. Our youngest girl at kindergarten could not pronounce the
"r" but pronounced it as the "y" as in "you".
 
"Where are yoy going?" would turn into "Wheye aye you
going?". :-)
 
The teacher tested her and called us saying we needed urgently to take her
to a speech-therapist in order to avoid a speech-disaster. I told the
teacher to stuff-it, to stick to her teacher-role and leave the parenting
to parents.
 
A year later the "problem" disappeared.
