=-> Quoting Orville Bullitt's question to All re: Magazines!
OB> Is there any collectable value in OLD Playboy Magazines?
A bit, but not as much as many people think. The obvious criteria
usually apply: the older they are - or the more rare - the more they're
usually worth.
The condition is critical, too. They should not be missing any pages
and should be in at least good condition. Very good to mint condition
is obviously best. Most Playboy magazines from the 1950s are worth
something to collectors. Dollar values also vary slightly from place
to place depending on local availability.
OB> Most of them are NOT im mint condition; but, I do have some of
OB> the ones that PLayboy called "collector's edition"....
Usually the ones that Playboy designated as Collector's Editions were
both printed and bought in larger quantities than the regular issues, so
they may not be as valuable as one might think. Again, it depends on
the date, the condition, and sometimes also on whether it contains any
articles, interviews, or pictorials of special significance.
Anyway, it's hard to be very specific without some details. If you
want to post a list of the issues you've got by date (i.e. May 1969),
I can probably give you a *rough* idea of their value.
Cheers,
Martin
