In the past couple of years I've rebuilt a 1988 K5 Blazer. The body was changed as the original was rusted beyond repair. Frame was OK. Front axle changed to a 1979 Ford F-350 Dana 60. Rebuilt and a Powerlock added. Rear axle is a 1995 Dodge Dana 60HD. Detroit Locker and Moser 35 spline axle update. Transmission is a Ford T-19 and a NP205 transfer case. All four u-joints are 1410. Last summer I pulled the 350 gasoline engine and swapped in a Cummins 4BT. Pretty easy swap and literally doubled the mileage. Also is far easier to drive and more reliable.
