The two main ones I see are the Raspberry Pi 3 and ODROID-C2.  I accidently ran
across the one I can't recall the name of yesterday when looking for
development boards.  I just did a search and cannot find it now but do see a
different one claiming eight cores but the cost is around 4 times higher than
the regular four core one found on raspi3 and the odroid.

Like I previously said, I am in no rush and can wait until more comfortable
before taking the plunge.  In the meantime shopping around seems to be a
harmless activity.
