I think the issue being debated here is not whether you can or
can't change a posted entry in Quicken, but whether or not you
should be ALLOWED to..., and Quicken definitely ALLOWS you to.
Although convenient, this is contrary to proper accounting
practise, and an auditor (for example) would never be able to
use your Quicken records as the basis for an audit, as there is
no way of proving whether or not any records were changed.
For the "home user" or small business person, Quicken is a
terrific money-management program..., but it should NEVER be
used in place of a proper accounting package (such as
QuickBooks or Bedford) by anyone who may have a legal
requirement of their record-keeping process.
