Hi, Perhaps to answer your question I should first explain my set-up and
hen
you will grasp what I am doing.
Here goes. My BBS (or I prefer to call it Interactive Net Server) is run on
the Wins/PXW platform, It is an open BBS and anyone can access it. Having
one
that I then decide what level of access I will give them ( before I do that I
give them the option of loggin on in either a normal coms programme or I
ffer
them the opportunity to download the programme "Navigator" which is a free
programme from Mustang and it allows them to access the BBS in a Web page
(HTML)format. I have created a Web page for this.
Most users have a security access I call "Fulluser" and this lets them go
ust
about anywhere on the BBS. I also have an access which I call "Platinum"
his
allows them to use Conference "0" to send and receive Internet e-mail in
addition to all the Fulluser activities.
I then arranged with my local ISP to open an account for me with the UUCICO
software which is basically just for the transfer of messages and files (You
can't access the Internet with this account) Now what happens is when I or a
user (Platinum) enters a message in the "0" conference with the correct
Internet address it will go to the server, likewise any messages on the
erver
with my address will be waiting to be downloaded. To give you an example:-
any address like these will do airways@airways.ultra.net.au
                                 f.hogg@airways.ultra.net.au or
                                 lawrence.lucier@airways.ultra.net.au
you get the idea
I offer this service free to my users and as long as they don't abuse it I
will keep it running. (I pay the bills) Now to finish this explanation, the
crucial question I know you will ask is how long does it take for messages to
leave my BBS? I usually access the ISP four or five times a day depending on
when *my* messages are to be sent. If there are messages on the system when

send one they all go together.
LL> Cheers from Lawrence Lucier.......on the other side.
