MM> The biggest flaw with the script I see is the cardboard villain nature
MM> of the new alien species -- the Scorpions.
Maybe I =should= watch this again. Very...unmemorable.
MM> It kind of reminds me of
MM> Time's Arrow, which gave us aliens killing people for no reason that was
MM> ever explained.
But it =was= explained...the aliens were feeding.
MM> And speaking of established continuity, since when did Borg cube ships
MM> use Transwarp drive? Never before this episode. (The Descent transwarp
MM> conduits don't count, because these Borg ships were not traveling
MM> through transwarp conduits.)
I was under the impression that they were...Harry saw the transwarp
signature, then he saw the ships. What more explanation do you need?
MM> Even if they do, on occasion, use
MM> transwarp drive, how did the people on Voyager know, since this has not
MM> been seen before?
Did Voyager disappear before Descent?
MM> The Doctor mentions that as the beginning of the assimilation process,
MM> the Borg take over red blood cells. Does that make sense?
I know you can say "retcon." You were just discussing it.
MM> The new aliens are designated by the Borg as Species 8472, and the
MM> implication is that they were located by the Borg several months ago.
MM> This provides an interesting tally on how many species total the Borg
MM> has come into contact with. Included in that 8,472 species
You are jumping to the conclusion that the species are numbered
sequentially. It could be like a stardate, where each digit represents
something different.
