John,
Thankyou for saying this. It is so true. Today's youngsters seem to
believe that our generation was nothing but "hippies". As if we ALL
lived in Los Angeles, Vancouver, or Haight-Ashbury. For the most part,
youngsters of the sixties were far less uninhibited than today's kids.
Living together as couples was still a "no-no," teenagers still got
married "because they had to," anyone participating in earth-oriented
religious practices was still considered a nut-case. Apartheid was
still the norm in the southern US, no homosexual in his or her right
mind would "come out of the closet," and "streaking" was only able to be
considered shocking *because* most of us still had such strong hang-ups
about nudity.

So boringly true.
