Hi,
  Either version 10c3 means something other than autocad ver10 c_3, and
I don't know what it is, or you mean to say you can't insert a drawing
file into ver12 that was made in ver10? That is not very likely, you
should be able to insert a ver10 file or open one up without any
problems. A dwg file is a write block and vica versa.
