Thanks.  I did not understand what the problem was.  I will file this with 
the list of other problems that Creative built into the SB16.  It is also a 
reason to put my PAS back into my system.  I've decided not to purchase 
Merlin (OS/2 Warp 4.0) because I don't need the VTD nor networking features 
bundled with it.
