I've had the same thing happen to tapes. What a bummer. I put the tape in,
and it ran and ran and ran. Then... THE TAPE HEADER CONTAINS UNREADABLE
INFORMATION. So I figure, if it's gone, I guess I'll format the tape. So it
runs and runs and runs. Then... THE TAPE IS NOT FORMATABLE.
I still haven't figured out what to back the BBS up with that won't do that.
I'm actually considering using a second HD and the tape at the same time. I
figure the odds of both going bad are huge.
