Cars are more dangerous than guns. You have no right to a car. You
do have a right to a gun.
In spite of the fact that there are more guns than cars, virtually
every automobile related death occurs by accident, while most operators
of those vehicles are trying to handle an inherently dangerous machine
as carefully as they can, or at least not intentionally trying to cause
harm. Yet, there are 40,000+ accidental auto deaths annually versus
about 1500 accidental firearms deaths in this country.
ÿ
Virtually all (except 1500) of the 35,000 firearms deaths are the result
of deliberate intentional human action.
Thinking of the children now, about 290 children die annually in the
U.S. due to firearms accidents. Compare that to 3700 in automobile
accidents, or 1200 in swimming pool accidents.
The evidence is clear : firearms, which we have a RIGHT to, are
inherently safe. Automobiles, which we have NO right to, are
inherently dangerous.
I have no problem regulating automobiles.
