Had a chance tonight to spend time looking at diffraction caused by
different thickness bars.  I used wire of differing thicknesses.

The diffraction is immediately obviously increased by the thicker wire
bars. Not only is the diffraction spike more intense, but it is longer too.
 It's obvious at low power but particularly glaring at high power.
