I have different shortcuts in my execution folder for each version.
Each shortcut contains the relevant config file as a parameter. I do
the same sort of thing with my email client, Eudora.

That is probably wise, but with different work directories you might
get away with it. The last one to close would be the one that
updated the QWK packet (or the BW packet).

That is something I never though about. It is (says he looking at
the path line in his Qedit as he types) a fixed default in the home
directory. I just did an experiment with my archive version, opening
it in another directory, and it still tried to compose a reply
message in this same \bwave\msgtemp.txt -- not a good idea!

And it may be a reason to keep what you did. I've wanted second
copies of Bwave primarily to go look at an older packet while keeping
the current one open. Never thought of replying from the second
copy.

I have a color scheme I like, and did not change it either.
