You should be able to just rotate the cell and spider and drill new holes.
As long as you stay in the same plane there won't be any effect in relation
to the focuser - assuming your diagonal holder can rotate so the secondary
is properly oriented to the focuser. For filling in the holes, there are a
number of options. I don't know how you want to finish the tube, but if you
want a nice smooth fill, you can just use any of a number of putties.
Assuming the holes are small diameter, just fill with the putty and sand
smooth. There is a nice wood filler putty that is water resistant and
sandable that would work. If the holes are larger and you want to keep them
for some reason, you can get plastic hole plugs in a variety of sizes at
most good hardware stores.

Subject: ATM Patching holes in sonotube
Hello fellow astro engineer's,
I mistakenly messed with the focal length of all my optics, and made the
tri-point, screw in mirror cell holes 1/2 inch oblong Inaddition, I moved
the spider down with the new holes centered between the origian two.Stupid,
yes I know, but I did it. Now I need help determining how to fix this mess.
My questions are:
1. how do I fill in the holes (with what substance), and redrill the
original holes,or
2. fill those holes and re drill new holes for the mirror cell and spider a
half inch or so to the left or right; but if I do this, what will be the
out come in relation to the focuser hole?
or, if you have another suggestion, please let me know. Replacing the tube
is out of the question.....
