hmm, now here's a thought
From what I hear about this new (police) bill, it will not require a warrant
to (for instance) bug anybody's phone in 'certain circumstances', and that
generally the warrant could be obtained retroactively (ie after the event)
I guess this also covers the monitoring of cellular phones.
and mobile phones, when switched on, can be tracked to within 50 metres.
how do people in this echo feel about this?
If you read editorials discussing this coming from other countries,
most notably the US, they cannot understand how come there is no
protest about this, as most modern democracies find this kind of
unchecked overweening power distasteful.
any comments?
