Me too.  Also now that I see where the linero people went with it I could
adjust my first attempt accordingly.  I actually wasn't too far off but I now
see why I wasn't confident that it would have worked on a raspi3.

Also if Ben was serious we could get him to test a kernel in the meantime. 
Speaking for myself I can wait but am not adverse to having someone else taking
it out for a spin.
