The default image is bad on my distro. Also my upgrade would not update the master boot loader. I dumped out and updated X by RPM install. This was problematic but it ended being the video card. Possibly a module problem Trio 64v2 DX wont work in XFree 4.2.1 but seems ok with XFree 3.3.6.
