"Six Degrees"

 Everybody has heard of the movie "Six Degrees of Separation", starring
Kevin Bacon... it spawned a party game, and has even been parodied
(starring Bacon) in a Visa (Mastercard?) check card ad.

 Here's a slightly different version.

 Start with Ms. Jorja Fox, currently starring as "Sara Sidle" on the hit
show "CSI:". Other shows she's been on include "ER" (as
"Dr. Maggie Doyle") and on "The West Wing" (as
"Secret Service Agent Gina Toscano"). She was also in the

movie "Memento", starring Guy Pearce.
 So... one of Ms. Fox's co-stars on "CSI:" is Marg Helgenberger, who got
her claim to fame on the series "China Beach". One of
Helgenberger's co-stars on

"China Beach" was Troy Evans, who just guest-starred in the
"CSI: Miami" season finale.
 Three of the people on "CSI: Miami" (past and present) are David Caruso,
Kim Delaney, and Emily Procter... Procter guested on "The West
Wing" (there's a link already) as "Ainsley Hayes". Both
Caruso and Delaney were on - at different

times - "NYPD Blue".
 Christopher Meloni guest-starred in several episodes of "NYPD Blue" as
Delaney's abusive boyfriend; currently he's starring on NBC's "Law and
Order: Special Victims Unit".
 Meloni came from a short-lived (only 3 or 4 episodes, unfortunately) ABC
series called "Leaving L.A.", about the L.A. Coroner's Office.
His main co-star on "Leaving L.A." was Melina Kanakaredes, who
for five years was on the NBC series "Providence". One of the
co-stars on "Providence" was Concetta Tomei, who

was on "China Beach" as "Major Lila Girreau" (there's
another link).
 "Leaving L.A." had several people on it who've gone on to other
things... other than Kanakaredes, there was Ron Rifkin, who is currently
starring on ABC's "Alias", as the evil "Arvin Sloane".
 Another star of "Leaving L.A." was Cress Williams, who went on to co-
star on the last season of CBS' "Nash Bridges"... another of the
co-stars on "Nash Bridges" for several years was Kelly Hu, who
went on to another CBS series, "Martial Law" - more recently
she's been in the movies "The Scorpion King" and "X2: X-Men
United".
 And yet another co-star on "Leaving L.A." was Hilary Swank, who went on
to fame in the movie "Boys Don't Cry", and the recent turkey
"The Core".
 Getting back to "Law and Order: SVU" - one of the current co-stars is
Richard Belzer, who for years was on the NBC series "Homicide: Life on
the Streets"... one of the other stars on "Homicide" was
Michael Michelle, who for several years played a pediatrician on
"ER" - and I believe she was there at the

same time that Jorja Fox was.

 Six degrees my butt.  :)

 If you want to go through a less convoluted computation, as mentioned,
Ms. Fox was in "Memento" with Guy Pearce... Pearce was in the
movies "Priscilla,

Queen of the Desert", "L.A. Confidential", and "The
Time Machine".
 One of the other people in "L.A. Confidential" was Jack Conley, who
played a Vice cop... he was also in the movie "Payback" -
starring Mel Gibson - as a corrupt cop. One of the other stars of
"Payback" was Maria Bello... who was

on "ER" for a couple of years as "Dr. Anna del Amico",
a pediatrician.
 And just for the fun of it... one of the other people in "L.A.
Confidential" was Ron Rifkin, who played a D.A. named "Ellis Loew"...
