subject: Best Boat Colors

TM> I am going to be getting a new boat and I have a question about bo
TM> colors. I have seen where many power boats have a white top and bo
TM> and a colored strip in between. I have also seen where some boats
TM> a metal flake color other than white on top and bottom and a colo
TM> strip. My question is about how much the white will be able.....

JZ>Hi Tim, I found that the "new" wore of sooner than the finish. I
JZ>don't mean to sound sarcastic, but this has been the end result with
JZ>the boats I have had and do have. The main thing which I have kept
JZ>clean is the bottom, because it effects the boats operation in the
JZ>water.
I know what you mean. I have had the same things happen to the cars I have
bought. I am going to do my best to keep that from happening with my boat
though.
JZ>Another effect is sun. Where is you boat stored? In a garage, or
JZ>covered marina on a hydrohoist? Left in the sun in the yard or at a
JZ>mooring will effect the plastic, encouraging the small cracks in the
JZ>finish and fadding of the colors.
Unfortunately the boat will not fit into the garage, so I am going to have
to keep it outside. I am going to have two covers though. One is going to
be the travel cover and the other is going to be a larger storage cover
that covers more of the trailer.
