-=> Quoting Jean Parrot to Bruce Clark <=- JP> Hello Bruce, we were saying ! JP> This is the proper forum, no ? JP> It still evades me why I can not just dumbly copy the BWAVE JP> folder from one HD to another and have it operate just as before. As JP> it is, this morning, I am trying to do it out of C:\. Time will JP> tell. If I use the BW from drive F:\, all is fine, if I use it out JP> of C:\, I get varying results, like no BWREFIX done or it will not JP> zip the .rep. Out of F:\ all is fine; remember that F:\used to be JP> C:\ and got relegated to an external USB device, good thing that I JP> saved it all. But what goes on in the "copy" procedure that would JP> disable some function when in the C:\ drive. As it is, to use the JP> F:\ drive as a saviour, I had to change all the paths to F:\ from JP> C:\ and that was done right as it is working fine and even BWREPFIX JP> runs good. JP> What got my goat was when I first tried it, BW was uninstaled, JP> I had to give it the validation keys. Since then, after deleting JP> that folder in C:\ and again copying from F:\, the keys have not JP> been required. Sure is beyond me ! I am on XP Pro and there is just JP> one Administrator on it... me ! JP> I am not even worrying about the Sig at this moment. When you copy everything from the F:\ drive, to the the C:\ drive, remember to change all the drive letter references EVERYWHERE in BW and BWREPFIX, and anything else that is referenced by BW. Also, change the start-up and run folder/directory under XP Pro. It could still be looking for BW in the F:\BWAVE folder. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: BBS Networks {at} www.bbsnets.com 808-839-6036 (1:10/345) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
