Gulp. David Nugent saying something is too abstract? Let me read that

again. No, it does say "dn" :-)

Seriously, the left and right handed brains have to come into this

somewhere, I expect. I wonder how most people view APL, for example? I

found it a little too abstract, to say the least.

dn> Modular/2 is very nice - I loved it. Unfortunately it's just not as

I am really getting sick and very bloody tired of things being supported

here but not there (platforms, I mean). Just today there is a message

in the OS2PROG area saying that it seemed that Borland was being taken

over by WordPerfect, and that probably support for OS/2 would be

dropped.

Competition may be well and good in small doses, but this is really

absolutely beyond the pale, when it directly affects what programming

language one uses, what GUI will be around next year, etc etc.

I almost think a revolt is called for, and somebody should right a nice

little language that does most things and produces some code that will

run on all (most?) platforms. Something that has the good features of

all the languages.

Maybe a project like Tobruk?

Happy New Year.
