In this case I forgot to add the -c switch to call up the config file I was editting.

Already did so inculding the "Doh!" one where I discovered my
mistake.  I put the working copy into the default /usr/local/etc/fido
directory and made a couple of backups for the future.  Now the plan is to
get areafixing working and then I'll start playing around with ideas from
my point off the node and see if I can fancy it up a tad, especially
configration issues, and perhaps some different archiving scheme or
messages (not squish, jam, or msg).  I plan to play with ideas.  :-)
