Was it none of the Fed's business when IBM controlled the mainframe hardware
*and* software market in the '50s, and essentially had zero competition, not
because there weren't other products, but for the reason that IBM wouldn't
allow that competition to grab a foothold in the marketplace? For those that
think Microsoft will take a major tumble if the Fed intervenes, take a look
at IBM.. They are still number one in hardware and software, the change is
that they now play the game correctly. They don't work towards killing the
competition, they don't force contracts onto unwilling recipients, they
provide solutions (something Microsoft should look into).
