Yes it's true....but I am still an unemployed elementary teacher....it only 
helps if you're CA trained and straight out of college....
It's also a somewhat strange move. The CA govt has mandated the extra 
teachers and smaller classrooms, BUT most schools do not have extra classroom 
space to put them in. At least this is the complaint in the LA and SD areas. 
From what I have just found out,there are also NO more mobile/portable 
classrooms to be bought or rented in the entire state. So, for a long time 
there may be two teachers in one classroom. While this sounds good in theory, 
let me tell you from experience that two teachers sharing the same classroom 
must be carefully matched - it's similar to a marriage.
My kids aren't to be affected by this change, but if they were, I'd probably 
do exactly as I'm planning to do this year - if my student load grows for my 
business, pull my kids out (perhaps around conference time) and homeschool 
'em.
