I sometimes do that on my Win64 machine.  The lack of sharing support sometimes
causes some weird file management issues on Windows (like newly downloaded
packets not being visible, etc), which are solved by restarting DOSBox. :)  I
haven't tried the WWIV/BBS version yet, because I don't have the ability to
compile it on Windows.
