Vietnam made me a real believer in mirrors. People used to pop smoke for me
all the time and they were hard to find. Somebody hit me with a mirror flash
one day and I was amazed how easy that was. Very noticeable and very precise
(not like smoke that drifted everywhere before it came up through the trees).

I sure wish I could remember the name of the place we went to get away from
the typhoon. I'm sure it was in your neighborhood. They told us there was a
high probability of having a serious attack that night. I destroyed
everything in my wallet except my ID card. I didn't want the folks who cut
off my head to have an address to send it to my parents. When I got back to
the states I wrote to Texaco and told them how I cut up my Texaco credit card
in Vietnam and they wrote back and told me I couldn't have a new once since I
was now a student on the GI Bill and didn't make enough money for one of
their cards. You could put all the Texaco gas I have bought since then in a
thimble and have room left over.

Goodness, your memory IS getting fuzzy. That wasn't the words we used.
DK> What? You got LOST? Tch tch tch. :-)
Yep. I did an even more public one in the states one time. I landed in the
middle of a Blue Angles air show.

I didn't land that time. For starters, I wasn't SURE we were in Vietnam.
However, for embarrassment, nothing beats landing among the Blue Angels (when
you ain't one).

Right (or maybe I should try to tell you I was just checking you). 1966. 25
MAR 66 to be exact.
