True, some were interested in the port, but no one else was able to help out with the code or the issues I was having. Now we have three others (maybe more) plus my self willing to work on the code. We're finally getting a critical mass together to get things moving forward. Unfortunately, maintaining the code across existing platforms may suffer short term. Longer term, I expect the Linux / Unix port to also compile and run under OS/2 using the EMX GNU C compiler, and probably similar for Win32. Yes, this stradegy will probably mean the dropping of plain DOS support in future versions. But I believe we now have the critical mass of software developers to get things moving. The stradegy I was taking wasn't working. The other three took a stradegy I was considering, but was holding off on while trying to get a different way of handling the code working..... Any way, thanks for the note.... Take care..... Bob Jones, 1:343/41 --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Top Hat 2 BBS (1:343/41) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 343/41 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
