Ummmm Why.... Haven't you got a cat?

OTOH I remember that my Dad and I used to go fishing off rocks at
Cape Terawhiti at times. We didn't go often as it was a 14 mile
walk around the beach from Island Bay in Wellington. I was around 15
years old then when he said one Labour Weekend, "Comeon Son, lets
go fishing."

My Mother was against the idea as it was coming up for a Southerly
wind which stirred up the water and made it cloudy with silt. She
said that we wouldn't get any fish. We used to use a spear attached
to about 14' of galvanised conduit pipe and spear fish off the rocks.

Normally Butterfish, Moki and Crays.

Anyway Mum was right. We didn't get any until we had walked back
to Island Bay and Dad bought some fish from the local market there.
We laid it on the beack and made spear holes. :-)

Dad said to me that I EVER TOLD Mum where the fish came from then
we weren't going to fish together again.

I didn't and we did.

Just sometimes we know on which side the bread is buttered. Mum
knew on which side the fish was battered!!! :-)

Kind regards,
Tony.
