subject: Auslinx 33.6k connect

I am the new owner of a Auslinx Tassie Devil 33.6k external modem. I'm
quite happy with its 28.8k performance (connects at 28.8k 100% of the time
so far!)
but why can't I connect at 33.6k at my ISP??

As far as I know the modem has a Rockwell datapump and is 33.6k compatible.

My ISP is running a combination of Dataplex and Netcomm modems with 33.6k
capability yet I can't even connect at 33.6k. Since my main reason for
purchasing a 33.6k modem was to surf the net this is a major problem.

Anyone who knows some good init strings for the modem or some form of
solution to my problem please reply.

or am I expecting too much from a cheapo $175 modem???? :-)

Thanking you in advance.
