The tail of the comatic image is pointing directly AWAY from the center of the primary's optical axis which is what you are wanting to have as the location for the center of the EP or camera. Remember that the secondary's purpose is just to bend the light going to the EP from the primary. It does no real optical purpose other than that and it should do no function to modify the actual focusing of the light.
