I have a problem connecting to my Demon ISP and I think the problem is the
ppp script. 
The standard script processes only LOGIN and PASSWORD. Demon also asks for
protocol and expects PPP.

This would be easy if I knew how to edit the script. It seems to exist in
two forms, text and binary.
Editing the text version has no effect. 

Is there a utility that 'compiles' the text script file? If so what is it?

More generally, how do I alter the ppp scripts?
