The most ridiculous part was when that cowed ninny gave a press
conference saying, "Women can do whatever men can do." One wanted to
put his head in the screen and say, "Actually, sir, they can't, and the
courtroom firefight you've just witnessed is a clear demonstration."

Or Juno Beach. Or any of the beaches. I wonder if Martha Burke would
have held a protest demanding more female participation in the biggest
amphibious assault ever.

Yes it will. I hope he goes, and I hope he tell us how it was.

I think men rise to the occasion, though. The men at Normandy were
elite troops, but there were millions of ordinary men who, after two
weeks of boot camp, went to Europe or Asia and performed extreme acts
of bravery. I believe most men, if put to battle, would come out
swinging.

Indeed, women fawned profusely over that film. I wonder if the reality
of it would have lead to so much fawning.
This is why I didn't see it. First, I knew they wouldn't show the
reality of it. Second, I already knew the ending.

There's no way she would have been so passionate about her beliefs as
the boat beneath her was sinking into the icy North Atlantic. "Oh..
um... maybe traditionalism isn't so bad after all."
