NB>> Dunno... if charm helped staying power, more charming seconds would NB>> have lasting relationships... :) MK> Yes but if it doesn't help does that imply that it hurts? hm... Good question. :) One could hope that it would be at worst neutral... ;) Of course, if the charm was merely superficial, it could hurt if it served to cover up what would become major problems. NB>> Hmmm... according to your theory, though, there couldn't have been NB>> much for me to inherit, as I'm the oldest child of oldest children, MK> It could be latent in you and in order to pass it on a second was MK> required. You are the one out of sync - according to my theory that MK> is - but that doesn't preclude that you don't possess charm. Thank you, I think... Recessant genes, perhaps...? NB>> mother's father was also an oldest child, as was my father's mother. MK> Doesn't really matter. It only matters where the children are wrt the MK> pecking order. It is only relative to siblings. Hmmmm.... I think I see the flaw in your theory... Second child in my family was not at all charming (she was instead both more cold and more heatedly violent), but the third child was... Pecking order doesn't seem to have worked quite normally in our group... :) Or perhaps you'll say that we are an exception that proves the rule...?? NB>> Hubby, on the other hand, was* a second child. MK> Is he charming? Sometimes. Probably no more or less than I, though... ;) Compatible, at any rate... NB>> and his mother was youngest of four (and a twin to boot). MK> Hm. That poses an interesting twist to my theory. I thought you might find it a bit interesting... :) She was* charming. Well-liked and respected by those she came into contact with, and still held in high esteem after her passing. I got the benefit of the reflected glory just a couple weekends ago, when I went to a meeting where some of her former colleagues were. She is greatly missed... by me as well... NB>> What an interesting mental exercise this is getting to be... MK> It shouldn't unless you're taking it too seriously. Exercise doesn't need to be a vigorous workout, you know... :) ttyl neb ...
