There is 2 harddisks on the machine the main hd as sda there run the linux
system then a second hd as sdb there thre was made to have the /ftp files on
it. So it was just made and partioned with one big partion on it for files to
reside.

 AV>Yet.

I still have all the files on my first node system and can request by a netmail
from 2:230/152 to 2:230/150 for resend the files so is they getting back on the
node 2:230/152 by both systems is in the same room.

The problem with the harddisk is that what ever I do will it not work and self
by a repair command and all work with is the superblock not been returned as it
the first inodes on and blocks on the harddisk so bad that everything not van
work.

I just checked the systems log files and it showed that self if the harddisk
not is mounted ad just sitting on the pc can't it not be read by errors

 AV>Proceed on your own.

I then after several testings and trying with function to repair and then
deleted all partions on it tried to see what happens by run 'fdisk /dev/sdb'
and first make one large full big partion and it was not good when gone to run
e2fs.ext4 as the superblock not was written on the harddisk, then I then tried
to create to make 2 linux partions as 5mg and one big by the reast of the hd
and run e2fs.ext4 and this showed that the superblock was made on the harddisk
but it was bad done as the first on the hd is so bad that it not like to work
with files on it after just copied some directies and file from last got in to
my changed mbse ftp area and when little test with fsck.ext4 was it bad.
So I think no on to get some time to find my unused 1.5TB reserve harddisk and
make it ready to be the ftp harddisk for my node 2 pc.

  Take care,
            Gert
