Ah, yesss! Spoken like a true Eastern Moose!
...What can I say? Even though we live in what many would
call Central Canada, or perhaps by worse names by those living out
west, when I consider my personal beliefs I have to think of myself as
an Eastern Moose.

I think I eventually replied to any messages I saw. Here are the most
recent messages I've seen. Aside from my "Rules Posting" not showing
up in the message base at 249/303, they're pretty much what I see when
I check message traffic at your uplink 249/303.

If some messages are missing, perhaps you could post them again?
While there was a temporary delay, all messages showing at 249/303 or
at telnet://bbs.docsplace.org eventually made it to 249/116 and then
to my own node.

We may have to "work" at that, a little. I've personally mourned the
lack of meese writing "silly" messages along the lines of some of the
stuff we wrote back in the Hell249 days. Even my political satire had
a strong dose of silliness. For the last few years, to get a message
exchange going each of us has had to try and merge our personal humor
preferences with the preferences of other meese. I guess this is
partly a result of many meese having migrated to UseNet newsgroups or
to vegetating while clicking their way through the World Wide Wait...
Whoops! I should have said something along the lines of "browsing
their way through the virtual swamp called the WWW".
...Anyroad, perhaps your enthusiasm will inspire us? Still,
you'll have to realize that many of us may be feeling a little worn
out. So, it may take a while for us to wake up MooseChat a little.
FWIW, we're still in slightly better shape that the Wunderment echo I
used to enjoy occasionally "lurking in". I think they lost the last
of their more prolific writers quite a while back and...

I hadn't even thought about any of the Three Letter Acronym agencies.
I guess the question is whether alt.moose is much less obscure than
this FidoNet echo? While alt.moose gets almost no traffic, it would
certainly be easier for "them" to monitor it than MooseChat. Still,
when I think about some of alt.binary.picture hierarchy newsgroups,
I wonder if NSA monitoring is as prolific as we're told. ...Or,
perhaps they never concern themselves with more mundane lawbreakers
and just concentrate on National Insecurity concerns?

Far as I can tell, there is no such option. Besides, unbelievable as
it seems, the sort of idiot who "should" read that type of advisory is
also exactly the sort of idiot who would manage to not notice such an
advisory.
Yours in the Way of the Moose,
