VN> Timothy around here is WONDERFUL, except for two things.
VN First, there is nothing on God's green earth that I am more allergic
VN> to; I put on Playtex gloves when I feed it to my horses.
ohno.!. How horrible for y o u.!. I couldn't imagine
being allergic to most things, let alone hay. Do your gloves go
all the way to your shoulder? I must be sloppier than most cuz I
usually end up with hay everywhere...down my shirt, in my
pockets, in my hair... :)
VN> Secondly, it is $7.00 for a TWO WIRE BALE!
It's hard to make a comparison based on a per bale price.
Hay around here can be anything from a 45# bale to a 150# bale.
I've bought hay for prices ranging from $65/ton to $135/ton
(depending on quality and time of year) Happily, right now the
boys are all getting fat (maybe a little too fat) on just plain
pasture grass. I should be buying, but since I'm moving, I've
got to wait.
VN> Dub eats about a bale a week; the vet said to watch him on all the
VN> bermuda I was giving him as the vet had seen some horses
VN> impact on bermuda. Sounded weird to me (the vet was there
VN> for Spot) but the vet had just moved here from North
VN> Carolina and maybe that is a problem there.
Never heard of that...but then...I've not heard of a lot
of stuff.
VN> It's okay, I LIKE paying exorbitant prices for hay and
VN> breaking out in hives! :)
hEh...sure yah do. :)
