Besides which it scrubs the cylinder walls down pretty seriously on a
cold start, dilutes the crankcase oil, and pretty well encourages the
formation of "nasties" (Sludge, etc) anywhere it can get to.
Natural gas is a far better fuel for stationary engines, though it has
some peculiar idiosyncracies of its own.
I STILL haven't heard of a reasonable explanation of why it poisons
sparkplugs.  (But I know where there's a pile of dead plugs nearly two
feet high!)
"Dry gas" is another urban legend best laid to rest....
