        I ran an organization called "Survivors Of Violence".  The
organization helped victims of crime and tried to help educate the
community.  There are many ways that you can market memberhsips.  Part
of this depends on the type of organization that you are running.  Could
you be more specific with what you are going to be doing?  You can
market membership through newsletters, through participating groups in
the same field, through sponsorship, media etc....
