subject: Interference

Just sat here reading my mail and a thought came to me
A few years ago there was a big scare relating to using mobile
phones and hand held radios, fears the rf could damage brain cells
and lead to cancer etc.
When I turn on my Nokia connected to Vodaphone digital it
interfere's for a few seconds with my transistor radio (thats old
fashioned) should it now be chip radio, no I'll settle for
portable, if I leave it on every few minutes I get the
interference, I guess the phone is telling the base where I am,
sat here typing I just got the noise it causes on the radio through
my computer speakers, funny thing is the phone is about 8 metres
away.
Any thoughts
