Sorry, sonny.  It is the result of doing intakes on chemically dependent
patients for some 25 years.

Stop trying to use some very lousy and very outdated MENTAL HEALTH to
explain away a physical problem of addiction.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY.  This is a blatant
lie associated with Skinner's theories.  Those work on only 80% of all
humans in this nation, incidently.  The other 20% are those with genetic
alcoholism in one form or another.  Skinner's theories don't work on
them at all.
Any true alcoholic can play much better games than the therapist knows
of.

NO ONE HAS AN ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY, Steve. There is no such thing at
all.  And we refuse to do the P.E.T. scans that will detect
differences in brain chemistry which is what this is all about.
The addict is using the drugs to correct a faulty neurotransmitter or
two or three or some other part of the brain chemistry.  Without really
knowing what is off in the first place, or what the results of the
experimentation is all about.
Kinda stupid, huh?
What this boils down to is that the immune system, the enzyme system,
and all of the other body chemistry is linked together. What affects one
of them will affect them all.  And when one is out of whack, the human
being does not function well at all.
Fixing that with unknown drugs is stupid.  Fixing that with what some
doctors use is also stupid.  It should be criminal.
