Is it possible to take a hard drive with good data with a Novell partition
(4.1) out of a dead server and place it into a new server without losing
data?  If so what is the procedure?  The hard drive in question is not the
boot partition, just a volume used as data storage.

I am trying to manage a Novell 4.1 system with only on the job training.  I
have had to learn from scratch.  Our primary server is giving us fits.  We
have a second identical server that was purchased as a backup.  We have it
set it up several times as practice and are ready to start using it so we
can fix the problems on the bad one.

The first time we tried to move the hard drive we lost the data. Luckily we
had a good backup.  We are now having a little problem getting the backup to
work on the new server.  I believe it would be much easier to just copy
files from different Netware volumes instead of using Tape backup to
restore.
