Hmm -- you're right, at least with current versions of GNU Make. I'm 99%
sure there is *some* make out there that I use irregulary that needs one..
maybe Solaris make. Who knows, I can't keep track of exceptions, IU just
make it a point to learn what works everywhere. ;)
