Sounds kewl. Haven't played with anything under Windows except WMP 6. I
might upgrade to the newer version before WMP9 comes out.

A) Is it worth it? I'm using WinAmp happily for audio so it would be mostly
a movie thing.
B) Does it try & talk to MS re what I'm listening to/ watching etc?

Yup I have 2 WinTV cards & they both work well. I also have an AOpen
thing which is a GeForce2 vid card (with VGA & TV-OUT) & the std
Phillips TV receiver. Oddly it only works under linux....the Vid card works
under Windows but the TV tuner stuff is crap.

Appliantology....

I might be but I'm holding fire till blue lazer cd'es come out coz I think
they could surprise in terms of capacity (I'm way impressed with the
mini-cd'es the Gamecube uses).

Nope no soldering. Yup 2 way (e.g. you can set your remote control to
control your PC (e.g. WinAmp or movie player). It does both loading an IRD
file & via "learning".

http://www.concept-devices.com/ (they're a UK comp)

http://www.conceptuk.clara.net/2products.htm

http://home.clara.net/conceptuk/2pcblast2.htm

comes with software for windows & linux & SDK'es as well.

It's very neat...I'm trying to push them into doing a USB version they do
say this: "USB Support to come via Serial Adaptor & Free Software
Upgrade "
