 MK> Hey Russell!

 RT>> keep this up please

MK> An oldie but a goodie. I've heard rumours that glibc-2.24 should be
 MK> out soon
MK> and promises a few fixes in the i18n department. Not sure if there
 MK> is anything
 MK>  there specific to you but looking at South Africa I get;

MK> --------------- vim commandline magic starts
 MK> :read ! locale -a | grep _ZA\.

 MK> af_ZA.iso88591
 MK> af_ZA.utf8
 MK> en_ZA.iso88591
 MK> en_ZA.utf8
 MK> nr_ZA.utf8
 MK> nso_ZA.utf8
 MK> ss_ZA.utf8
 MK> st_ZA.iso88591
 MK> st_ZA.utf8
 MK> tn_ZA.utf8
 MK> ts_ZA.utf8
 MK> ve_ZA.utf8
 MK> xh_ZA.iso88591
 MK> xh_ZA.utf8
 MK> zu_ZA.iso88591
 MK> zu_ZA.utf8
MK> --------------- vim commandline magic ends

MK> Note that for 8-bit they are all iso88591.

RT>> my inability to translate [ error free ] them to a nice format
 RT>> like E-PUB,

MK> The format is a whole other can of worms but the text should be
 MK> easily doable
MK> once the correct encoding is known. If it actually is utf8 then it
 MK> doesn't
MK> require translation as long as the reader knows utf8 and has the
 MK> correct fonts
 MK> onhand.

RT>> I would like to read on a Gallaxy Tab 4

MK> From my research into Android based devices utf8 shouldn't be a
 MK> problem. As
MK> for 8-bit, iso88591 is the most likely encoding.

MK> Speaking of which, I don't think you got my routed netmail. Care to
 MK> set up a
MK> direct connection? I think that would be best all things considered.

Been, busy, and hopefully this time, next week, I will be on leave, if the
Greeks I work for, do not change their minds.

Think I broke Netmail, when I moved it to a Squish base. :((

Setting up a direct connection, can be done ...

Also want to rebuild that RPi, it is still running on Wheezy - which is more
than a little old ...

So will get to it as I go ...

Thanks

Russell
