Hello Jens,

I'm not a programmer, thus, the "C-socket"
and such I can not help you with. However,
I am very familiar with the old Lan-Workplace
for DOS TCP/IP stack.

My answer to you is simple: If you must
use a DOS based machine that is running
a DOS based IPX and IP stack, running
ODI drivers, then, you are much better
off getting the newer CLIENT32 stack
from Novell. It will still work under
DOS, but create a much smaller conventional
memory footprint, of only 5k. Thus, you
are getting the newest and latest stack,
getting tons of support and documentation,
and you should have no problem getting help.
It's available from Novell web site. It's
too big, otherwise, I'd e-mail it to you.

Lan Workplace was around for a very
long time; however, just like DOS,
it has gone away, along with Wollongong,
FTPOneNet, and a whole slew of DOS based
requester software.

Good luck.
                            Alex G
