VC> I will look to port it to Watcom v11.0c under OS/2 VC> when the Linux port has VC> stabilised. How about going with OpenWatcom? I'd like to see max buildable with free tools. FWIW, 95% of the work of getting it to run under OS/2 will be coming up with a GNU Make Makefile to drive the compiler (and assembler). You can run GNU Make and Bison under EMX with carefully-crafted default (implicit) Makefile rules to run the OpenWatcom compiler (assuming it works from the command line) to produce native OS/2 (w/o EMX) binaries. I have done similar things under Cygwin/VC++ in the past, it produces a very platform-portable code base + build environment. Wes PS: I forgot to mention; the original Maximus was built with Watcom C 1.0-and (I think) MASM or TASM. The UNIX code body does not require any assembler, but the other platforms do. --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: COMM Port OS/2 juge.com 204.89.247.1 (281) 980-9671 (1:106/2000) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 106/2000 633/267 |
