| subject: | Amateur Telescope Making |
Amateur Telescope Making is on the backbone Echotag: ATM Over the years many amateur astronomers have made their own telescopes. An amateur astronomer, using only the simplest of tools, can grind a mirror or lens of superb quality... much better quality than is available in most commercially constructed telescopes designed for the amateur market. All it takes is a little work and a little help and that's where ATM comes in. ATM is for the discussion of all aspects of amateur telescope making. Whether you're interested in grinding your own mirror or lens, purchasing a mirror and assembling a telescope, or even if you're interested in an amateur radio telescope, this is the conference for you. We'll also discuss the design and construction of mounts, CCD cameras, as well as computer control systems for telescopes etc. Request it from your sysop and let's push some glass!
