Hey Maurice.
Hack this down a bit.
I got wordy as I am always happy to hear whhat you've to say.

Sounds like a plan.
I think i may emulate you rather than reinvent the wheel.
Such has profited me in the past.
What the heck is ssl?

I have moved in that direction as well.
In response to my reading about ActiveX and other nusciences like
Flash which last I knew didn't work in the 10.2 release.
I've better thing to do than look at Flash political sites now.
I want to find some utilities to assist the disabled.
Text to speech.
Html strippers to test.
A typing program to feedback keys struck audibly identifying them.
I've burned my internet time this month so it'll have to wait
but I think these sorts of applications must be
out there.
I wish to proceed before I need such.
WC> the multimedia apps limited to the Pentium.
MK> Sounds familiar except Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz in this case.
Braggard.
I'm green with jealousy.
But not for long.
May marks the first month I have some financial resource.
Stand back then!
I'm more thna doubling my power then with the Pentium III 933
I previously mentioned I intend to purchase off of the disabled
fellow at the corner computer store.
MK> Before this it was a dual P3.
WC> I'm just weird.

Yeah, rub it in why don't you ;-)

I knew that!
I even know much of what the above means

Custom.
Ummm.
Not having to reinvent the wheel, good :-)
I shall hold you to that!
Or custom configure it myself.
Easier perhaps you send me a rough outline when the time comes
though.

MK> For sure.
I am one who likes routine and reliable things.
It is why I don't do Windows.
The darn things are always breaking when you either mess with them
or try to clean them ( multiple registries)
Too darned mysterious for me.
The windows can stay dirty for all I care.

Uh Maurice I think that a bit much don't you?
I mean I said I was happy with the Voodoo 3 card I already had.
It took me a moment upon opening the package to figure out what that
card even *was*.
I had pointedly not asked for it.
Only a couple of outdated SIMMS.
Anyhow I finally thought of the type of person you were
and that led me to look at the video connector than notice
the chip on the card said Matrox.
Thanks muchly.
BTW, I keep box both for amount of postage due to you and address
in case needing to send you something.
I do have some 4 16 meg sticks of 168 or 184 pin memory.
184 I think.
and a 32 and 64 168 unmatched set that play well together if
you should happen to need them.
WC> You have no idea how unlikely it was I'd fall into line with your

I have known this for sone time now.
Shocking to find another person like me.
Scary.
Is there enough room for us both on a single planet?
MK>> That is known as 'user friendliness'. They can keep it.
Huh?
I am keeping my Linux.
Windows friendly?
I don't think so.
WC> They can stuff it somewhere I say.
MK> They did that right off the bat.
Heh.
Good one!
WC> Hey, they run Linux on hte International Space Station.
MK> I heard that. Also heard they run a minimalized Linux with C-kermit
MK> for inter-satellite communications.
I'm a tad short on satellites this week.
Perhaps when I next find myself at the grocery store
I shall pick up some from the reduced price dented satellite bin ;-)
WC> I guess there was some concern about getting a BSOD with that up
WC> there where there ain't no air.
MK> That and linux can properly control the cpu so it runs cooler, etc.
I like my woman hot and my CPU cool myself.
WC> I'm weird but I take it you may have gathered that?
MK> I've got you cased. ;-)
I hate to tell you but your case has excaped and on the loose.
Send out a BOLO for!
WC> I've thought about keeping everything on a flash disk and ramdrive
WC> wit a few choice scripts to set it all up.
MK> That's the plan. Seems to be working. A tad slow booting but once it

sounds similar to a bootable CD release as that is how Knoppix behaved
before it got tossed in a drawer.
A Charles Angelich sent me a CDR of Knoppix 3.3.
He like you was a very fine man.
He is unfortunately no longer with us.
WC> But for the foreseeable future I'll likely be on hard drives mostly.
MK> Good idea. When you're ready to experiment with ramdisks you can do it
MK> from a regular drive first.
WC> New memory appearing on the retail scene soon I am hearing.
WC> Latest bleeding cutting edge must have I am hearing.
MK> That is what I have here. Mostly aimed at the pci-e graphics stuff but
MK> seems to work okay for regular stuff so I am not complaining. Price
MK> was right.
WC> Good for me, I'll get lots of the old useless stuff cheaper
WC> and running Linux run circles around most running that other OS
MK> You betcha! You're on the right path.
I owe it all to Charles and you with a big assist from Paul and Martin.
There are some few others as regards to hardware.
The software was the big thing.
I never could get Windows to run right and behave.
A couple days ago I scraped that annoying Windows sticker of my box.
Nope, no windows here.
WC> As things stand now there's absolutely nothing I *need*
WC> but I do have some limited *wants* and desires.
MK> Right. mga_vid. Awesome! You'll see.
I am a believer in the force now that you have shown me
the teachings and it's ways master Obi Wan.
WC> Once I attend to them I've determined I shall will myself healthier
WC> and then perhaps a Beowolf cluster
MK> Or just a cluster designed to take advantage of what you have available
MK> for your ends and means.
that is more in lije with whayt is already shaping up and more reality based.
However I have always set my targets too hiigh on purpose so that I
can fail and still be on a fairly high plain.
WC> On a more serious front, I really need to get after the source
WC> code for Lynx on my other two Slackware CDs and recode the output
WC> to eliminate that blue prompt line.
MK> I suppose. I just leave it alone as I don't browse enough to worry
MK> about it.
I do LOTS of browsing as you know and I really want to vanquish
that line for reading html.
I've lots of stuff from Gutenberg Project I have been intending to read.
But Konqouror blazes to white and that blue line is to contrasty.
It hurts my eyes.
Last time I gave up as I couldn't find an index to the source for Lynx
though I am sure there must be one on that CD, one of the two
for 10.2 I've got.
I'll look again before tuesday this week.
WC> It's hard on my eyes with the difference in contrast between that
WC> bright blue and the black background as causing a bit of
WC> a kind of eyestrain and headache.
MK> Ah! Have you tried a different /etc/lynx.cfg?
Not as yet.
Forgot about that file.
I think i looked at it but I was having a bad day or something
and didn't do much or anything.
I shall look again after uploading this.
WC> Shoot Maurice, I'm just too darn mean to die ;-)
WC> Or too weird.
WC> Or some ( per)mutation of both!
MK> Excellent.
I just read a piece off of the internet that says the man of steel
mentality can make one heal faster.
That's why Slackware was on my must do list a while back when
I had this annoying headache.
I do not believe I could have dealt with that trial had I not had
my Slackware to keep me company and sit with me.
I am such a pansie when it comes little annoyances like headaches.
Do you know I actually considered going to a doctor for it?
But I saved a few bucks.
What would a doctor do but tell me to take a couple of aspirins
and call him in the morning?
Got myself a sort of sleep mask that helps me cut down on headaches
during the day.
Downloaded some CSPAN Congressional stuff with wget about
various investigations.
Things are distinctly looking up.
Now everything is just about perfect :-)
... Now using Linux Slackware 10.2
